A native of Hartford, Connecticut, Marie Attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana graduating with degrees in General Studies and Journalism.  While Constantin's commercial work took her to industrial plants, hospitals, and local businesses, her personal work took her to some of the world's worst slums—Calcutta, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Tijuana—where she photographed and at times worked alongside of Catholic nuns serving the poor.

Most recently Constantin was recognized in Baton Rouge as a 2023, 2024 and 2025 Capital Region 500 Most Powerful and Influential Business & Community Leader for her citizen-activist work advocating for less flooding, less litter, lower insurance rates through the establishment of stormwater management utilities.
